Shooting day today at Wilson Road !
i have arrived earlier at the uni to clear out the studio area..and to move the three wooden structures and bases to the top floor…
One of my best childhood friends kindly offered to assist me in the documentation of the durational sculptures so i got more relieved about the whole process although i didntt have much time left to lose.
I begun constructing/ building the first sculpture, the one which consists of the column, my body and the blue wooden construction with the strict lines and squares..
Collaborating with all the other mediums, i ended up with a result that looked like the example below..
at the begging the sculpture had just a plain white backround..but then I examined a little bit the place to find all the small bits and pieces, details that mayde it unique..the wooden floor and the markes it had from its previous visitors, the sun coming from the large windows..the cables..the headers..
I decided to move the sculpture a little bit closer to the the window, and see what the natural light would give to the sculptural composition.
I was moving a little bit every couple of seconds and i asked Basilis to take some pictures everytime i d move..Each picture is a fragment of the durational sculpture..the apex of the event…that preserves an act of the past.
Ive placed the second sculpture next to the window again..on the opposite side.
Outside the window we could clearly see the trees of the part next door..It seemed to work really well with my green sculpture and the rough almost unprocessed piece of wood that i found.. I took some pictures from two different angles…to see which one i d like more.
I personaly felt that the 1st one below is much more interesting since you could see the trees at the back but again. maybe it feels a little bit too busy with all the lines behind the body.
For the final sculpture i wanted to include more information of the actual space..
I included both of the radiators and windows in it..
The performances were done twice..
1st time for shooting the photographs and the second time for recording the whole process with video.
